Despite their name, peanuts are unrelated to tree nuts. As a legume, they’re related to beans, lentils, and soy.
In the developped world, peanuts are rarely eaten raw. Instead, they are most often consumed roasted or as peanut butter.
Other peanut products include peanut oil, flour, and protein. These goods are used in a variety of foods, such as desserts, cakes, confectionery, snacks, and sauces.

Peanut Producers

37% of world nut production comes from China, 25% come from Africa, 21% originate from the America, and 6% come from the Oceania. The other primary nut producers include the US, Sudan, Indonesia, Myanmar, Senegal, Argentina, and Vietnam. The major exporters include India, Argentina, US, China, and Malawi while the major importers include Netherlands, European Union, Indonesia, Mexico, Germany, and Russia. Groundnuts are mainly cultivated in areas with sandy loam soil especially in arid and semi-arid areas. Apart for human consumption, the nuts are also exported as animal feeds.

1. China
China is not only the leading producer of peanuts but also the top consuming country. In 2017/2018, it produced approximately 18.5 million metric tons of the nuts or 41% of the total world’s production and exported about 7%, consuming the rest.

2. India
India is the second-largest peanut consuming country after China. It is also the second-largest producer and the top exporter of the nuts.

3. Nigeria
Nigeria accounts for approximately 7% of the world’s peanut production, same as the US. Most of the nuts produced in the country are consumed locally.

4. United States
The US and Nigeria each account for 7% of the world’s peanut production. However, the US consumes slightly fewer peanuts compared to Nigeria.

Project Process

1-Roasting Peanuts

To be roasted in the shell, peanuts are cooked at medium heat. They may be plain roasted peanuts or seasoned roasted-in-the-shell. The most popular are salted in-the-shell, however the new flavors – cajun and jalapeno are getting accolades from consumers as well. To season peanuts in the shell – prior to roasting- the peanuts are washed and then the seasonings, which are dissolved in water, are forced through the shells by a pressure process. When dried during roasting, the seasonings remain inside the shells. Most often, snack peanuts are shelled, roasted, blanched and salted, (although Spanish peanuts are usually roasted with their skins on.).

2-Cleaning The Peanuts

After a good roasting it is time to sanitise and remove any remaining shells from peanuts . the vertical rotation movement helps the shells to be easily removed . With the gravity and rotation the peanuts are clean and ready for packaging .

3-Packaging Peanuts

The package will be aluminium or plastic container of 170 grams . The design will be chosen by the client , or he can pick of our models that we designed and we are inspired from.
